A few things are worth shopping there. Greetings cards for one. Know packaging is a little less the normal size but for Those on low income food items are necessary for survival. Never buy tools for they are cheaply made.
Dollar Tree store is complete SCAM.
Each store management uses their public return policy statement of their own interpretation for discriminating and humiliating customers.
Their public return policy stated that they except “ANY” returns accompanied by receipt and offer a full refund in original form of payment or exchange for another merchandise”.
Shockingly, their own store management are not following their own public statement of return policy, siding that they won’t except returns of any “Seasonal” merchandise regardless, if it is accompaniment with receipt or not! Nor they offer an exchange, instate blackmailing customers to return merchandise with 50% reduction in state.
For request of showing a return policy that should be displayed with in stores, stating information that store does not except a seasonal merchandise store manager refused to complain with customer request!
Dollar Three stores are not transparent or forthcoming, or complaint with their return policies therefore in valuation of the Federal Consumers Laws. Additionally, this stores management & employee’s actions are not complaint with The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Just like anything, you get what you pay for, but like they said in the article “12 secrets Dollar Stores…” I agree that the cleaning products are very much worthwhile , I buy the “Awesome” cleaning products all the time and I have been very pleased with them I have also bought many other products, snacks and minor food products and have not been disappointed with my purchases. I did not know that you could use coupons at their stores, so that was new information for me, even though I don’t normaly use coupons anywhere and probably won’t start now it was good to know.
I think it depends on the store as to whether they accept coupons.
Ask at the front before you shop.

Some things in your article are true, some aren’t. I work at a DOLLAR GENERAL, we have name brand cosmetics, food, and cleaning products, as well as our versions. They are checks all the time for quality, out of dates, etc. But don’t things are cheaper elsewhere, as you’ve stated, look for deals on the app, look for deals weekly, just compare. Not so DOLLAR stores are the same. DOLLAR GENERAL isn’t the same as Family DOLLAR or Dollar Tree, those two are owned by the same parent company, we’re independent of them. Thank you
Actually, Dollar Tree is getting name brand makeup! They are also getting name brand cereal and baking mixes. Good quality products and good quantities for $1.25. And they have Cool Whip, an 8 oz carton that is around $2 at the grocery stores but sells for a mere $1.25 at Dollar Tree. This store is constantly getting in these hidden gems! The key is to search for things around the store. They constantly receive unique items and gadgets you won’t find anywhere else.
The Dollar Tree store are starting to sell more name brand products and soon it will no longer be $1.25

has beautiful artificial flowers especially for the price, compared to the craft stores. I use them in flower arrangements & in wreaths on holidays.
As far as the &.99 cent is concerned I like their household cleaning products & their produce. I’m a single don’t need large quantities & don’t have storage for a lot.

We love a clean house, ammonia, bleach, Swiffer, a powerful vacuum cleaner, etc, and we love snacks, lots of snacks, and candy, lots of candy, and so we love a good Dollar Tree or Dollar Store.

I understand that after being accustomed to purchasing .99 items for so long has been a blessing. Unfortunately, those who work in those stores have bills they need to pay as well as the rental of the property the store sits on. Prices are increasing in every store. we need to continue doing the best we can to find the best deals available. I shop for deals all the time. I seek clearance and out of season items first and foremost. We all need to do the best we can and pray for continued provision. Consider stocking stuffers early on. Get creative. Bless you all.
I love the Dollar Tree! I had a 25 year career in teaching and it was a life saver! Also, they are not always located in low income areas. They now occupy a space that was a Pier 1 in a rather affluent area.

The Dollar Tree stores offer fabulous bargains throughout their businesses. I disagree with the above statement. Savings are abundant and there are far too many items to mention. I suggest you take a second look. I don’t necessarily “need” to save on purchases but I really like to find great buys. Before you ask, I am not a competitor.

We just take the grandkids and let them pick whatever they want with a frugal budget. They feel like kings and queens spending their allowed amount and making the decisions themselves. Everybody is happy and a simple game or an item they really wanted makes their day and mine too. So much fun and for a dollar who cares if the value isnt perfect.. Weve walked out with something that broke easily but its ok. we can go again and we also bought more than one thing so all is good. Love that store. We have so much fun picking things out and talking about what we like and dont like. Id do it everyday of the week if we could. You know love those kiids.

The dollar stores are cheap but you have to be picky!! Some have great deals and other things aren’t worth .50 cents. It’s like everything else, you have to check prices elsewhere also. Don’t just buy because it’s cheap, if you do it might break easily and that’s 1.25 you throw away. It all adds up!
I love both family tree and dollar general. They have an abundance of merchandise for the price. I also shop at the family dollar store also. The quality of some of their products are made in the USA. I appreciate these stores for thinking of the less fortunate and hope they continue.
Of course, some things are not a bargain. The other day I spent 24$. In the dollar store world, this is a haul. I got some great organizers, makeup (recommended in a national magazine), art supplies, etc. If I was in Target or even Walmart I might find some deals but inevitably there would be things much more than a dollar and my bill would be 100$, not 24.
My rule for myself is if I see something in the $ store and I need it, I can get it because an item for 1$ (or 1.25) is always in my budget.

First off the one on Marco Island, FL is in an extremely affluent place, everyone loves to save a few bucks! Love that I can get stuff like a box of Kleenex that is the supermarket is upwards of 3.50. You have to look around but for decorations for parties or holidays you can’t beat it. All employees are very courteous. The grandkids love going and I can always pick out many small toys and games for their easter baskets. They do sell lots of name brand food items, cake mixes, frostings and what I like most is they sell ice for 1.25 bag…always great for the boat!
Yes, I too LOVE the Dollar store. I get all of my Greeting cards from there. I get a lot of other things from there also. It is the best store in town.
