Costco is one of the most popular stores in the USA. In February 2023, the retailer had 123 million members and over 300,000 employees. The store is also ranked as the sixth-largest retailer in the world and the third-largest in the United States.
The general perception about Costco is that it saves its members lots of money and always has amazing discounts and high-quality products. And most of this is true – you can buy groceries from them for incredible prices, and not just groceries but also electronics and many other things, such as eyeglasses or vacation packages.
In order to be able to buy from them, you need to have an annual membership that starts at $60 (the standard Gold Star membership). If you want a Gold Star Executive membership, you’ll have to take $120 out of your pocket.
So, even if you can find a Costco almost anywhere in our country and their prices are very good, what are the reasons that should make you think twice about buying a membership?
