Books

Target is not the place to pick up a book for a beach read, you are definitely not getting the best price for the best selection of books. Target does not have a great selection, and you will not find classic literature there or anything thought-provoking for that matter.

Target’s prices on books are not economical like other retailers, for example; Barnes & Noble frequently offers 20% discount coupons to its email subscribers and the best is Amazon where you can select a cheaper used-book option.

Other than the monetary factor, but both Amazon and Barnes & Noble sell thousands of books that Target does not stock on, hence the collection of books is a problem at Target.

Conclusion

Many of us suffer from what is commonly called the “Target Syndrome,” i.e. buying a ton of stuff that you categorically don’t need but will buy because it’s in front of you and the price seems good when it is actually not.

If you are a savvy shopper, you can combat this common shopping affliction and know what to avoid when at Target.

A good hack for shopping is that if you want or need something very precise, it’s perhaps best to find it online where the prices are much more competitive and economical. For items that are needed immediately, find a specialty store.
