4. Winter sports gear
Snowboards, hockey sticks, or even ice skates—all of them are patiently waiting to find a new home. And the good news is that you can score a very good price for these items at every yard sale. The best time to shop for them is during the summer, and you will be happy to have them in your garage once the chilly season comes again!

5. Books
There’s an old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” which is also applicable in this case. Whenever I went hunting for bargains at yard sales, I always looked for books. Some of them are priceless, either because the edition was limited or because they are no longer available for purchase anywhere. In some cases, if you are interested in buying a bunch of books together, you can get a generous discount from the owner. Believe it or not, a lot of people are so eager to clear the clutter from their homes that they will be happy to offer it to you for a bargain.
If you’re more than a casual reader, books are one of the first things you should buy at the next yard sale.
