Retinol
You’ve probably heard about retinol before. Every living expert shouts this name. But, according to Catherine Borysiewicz, consultant dermatologist at Cadogan Clinic, “Retinol is a vitamin A derivative that’s highly researched, and it’s a proven skincare product.”
However, what does it really do? Well, it seems that it speeds up the rate at which our skin cells turnover, which helps improve firmness. “By promoting cell turnover, it highly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and an uneven skin tone,” she explained.
Given that retinol is so hot right now, we all expect to see beauty brands raising their prices. And while it’s true that some beauty products that cost a ton of money are worth every penny, when it comes to retinol, stronger isn’t always better.
In fact, often, powerful retinol might only leave your skin red, and irritated, and might even provoke peeling. So the strength of retinol we’re actually allowed to get is very limited.
The Inkey List – Retinol Eye Cream
Even if retinol use is usually discouraged around the eye area because that skin is way more delicate and prone to sensitivity, this particular eye cream is much more gentle. It does a great job when it comes to smoothing, brightening, and plumping for visibly brighter skin.
L’oreal Paris – Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Deep Anti-Wrinkle Night Serum
This serum has pure retinol, and it delivers quite impressive results for a high-street product. Besides, it also has macro hyaluronic acid, which helps retain the skin’s natural moisture levels.
Indeed Labs – Retinol Reface Skin Resurfacer and Intensive Wrinkle Repair Serum
This retinol reface from Indeed is very appreciated by many beauty editors, because of its instantly smoothing and brightening results.
