The reason for this is simple! You can buy most things you can think of on Temu for a very low price. No matter what you may be thinking of, from clothing and accessories to electronics and kitchen items, they will have it, and chances are it will be less than $30!
If you are looking for very cheap items and you do not mind having to wait a little bit to get them, you can easily end up shopping on Temu from them instead of Amazon. In the end, there is a chance that some items you may be purchasing on Amazon are from a third-party store that is also sourcing their items from China, so why not skip the middleman and get them directly from the source?
Temu prides itself on the fact that they are offering cheaper versions of a copied product, not shying away from the fact that certain designs could be copied from big designers. They do, however, mention in their terms and services that they do not allow copyright infringement of intellectual property, so the area is pretty gray.
Temu has become extremely popular in the U.S., yet there are concerns over the fact that they could be selling the data of customers and that they are not much better when it comes to manufacturing processes than Shein (another massive Chinese retailer that is known for shady business and labor practices).
