#5 Vanilla Ice Cream
Breyer’s might be the most raved-about ice cream out there, but that does not mean that there aren’t some generic brands out there that couldn’t raise the occasion. Of course, it will not be a one-to-one dupe for the more expensive brand, but there could be a close second when it comes to replicating the flavors.
And Walmart’s Great Value was found by experts to be doing just that! The vanilla bean ice cream is almost just as good when it comes to how good it is, and you will be paying at least 30 percent less on it! It’s one of those generic buys that you cannot miss during the summer!
#6 Buy generic: LED BulbsÂ
For those who aren’t yet up to date with the latest news, it doesn’t cost that much to choose the more environmentally friendly choice, especially when it comes to lightbulbs. Walmart’s generic LED bulbs are just one of the items that they sell that are eco-friendly, and they will not burn a hole in your budget.
If anything, they’re the most affordable type of lightbulb out there, and you will definitely see an improvement when you make the change to them! Both for your wallet and for how much electricity you consume.
#7 Toilet Paper
And since we were speaking of paper products earlier, the Best Value paper towels aren’t the only ones you should choose generic when you are shopping at Walmart! Their toilet paper is not one to put aside either, and it is definitely giving you the best product at the best price. There are multiple reports and tests made by both customers and other sites that say this one is definitely one you have to try!
And with how big the pack is, you will not have to worry about replenishing your stock until next month!
And since we’re talking generic products, you should definitely check out these ones from Costco so that you can get the best offers from multiple stores!

Great Value ice cream is excellent. Rocky Road, Cookies and Cream, Butter Pecan are chock full of cookie pieces, chocolate pieces, and nuts. It’s right up there with Publix premium ice cream. IMO Breyer is over rated. I bought GV brand trying to be frugal. Glad I did. Now it’s my go to brand. It was $1.98/48 oz. It’s gone up to $2.24.
Great Value vanilla bean ice cream is not only tasty – it has all real ingredients, no weird named crappy ingredients, no xanthum or guar gum etc. The other great value icecream flavors including other vanillas are not as pure. Don’t believe me? Read the back of cartons.
