Whole Foods
Popular for its organic selection, Whole Foods is a supermarket chain owned by Amazon. Since all the products are free from hydrogenated fats, artificial flavors and preservatives, here you’ll find everything that you need for a healthy diet (fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, meat, nuts, whole grains and so on).
Whole foods (with 503 stores, California having the highest number) had a traditional loyalty program until 2017 when Amazon decided to buy the whole chain. Since then, Whole Foods customers can only have special offers and discounts if they are Amazon Prime members. Pretty expensive (you’ll have to pay $119 a year) but the price might be worth it. Here are the benefits:
- Â Get an extra 10% off when purchasing items on sale
- Gain access to Prime-only Whole Foods deals throughout the year
- Many Other Amazon Prime benefits include free same-day and two-day shipping of all Prime-eligible items from Amazon.
Publix
The beloved southeastern grocer hadn’t had a loyalty program until 2020. Publix, which is the largest employee-owned supermarket chain in the U.S., created a free reward program that provides personalized offers to customers. These are the following benefits:
- Receive sales notes in advance (including buy one, get one deals)
- Get personalized coupons based on history of purchase
- The option to pay in-store purchases using the Publix app, along with other digital perks like digital receipts and digital shopping lists.
Besides, Publix supports different nonprofit organizations and local schools by providing food and funds to them. So, if you have a Club Publix account, you can also help Publix to donate a part of its sales (this option is available only in a few stores).Â
