Did you know that some pantry staples don’t have as long of a shelf life as we thought?
After all, we are all used to the fact that some items in our pantry will have huge expiration dates that are sometimes months, if not years, from now. And as much as we’d love for this to be true, these items aren’t actually as long-lasting as we’d like them to be. Just because a product hasn’t reached that date yet doesn’t mean it won’t go stale or that something won’t happen to it.
All the organizing trends nowadays are pushing us to also take certain items out of their packaging and put them in glass jars or other airtight containers; yet, despite these new storage places, some of them can still go bad, stale, or develop some sort of bug infestation. We’ve gathered the items that we all tend to buy in bulk due to their long expiration dates, but we should be checking on them much more frequently than we do.
Make sure you’re not losing money in the long run when you realize all of these items in your pantry are stale, and you have to throw them out and repurchase them all!
