#3 Instacart
If you’re looking for a service that’s going to deliver all over the country, Instacart has you covered: as they cover all 50 states and the District of Columbia. All with the promise of getting you your items in less than an hour!
What’s best about Instacart is that it doesn’t rely on getting all your items from one huge warehouse, but rather partners with well-known supermarkets where you’re already familiar with their items—including fan favorites such as Costco, Whole Foods, and even Petco. If you want to sign up in order to save more money, they have Instacard Express, but it’s only a benefit if you use their delivery services regularly.
This membership will cost you $99 a year (which would be $8.25 per month), or you can pay it monthly for $9.99. This subscription-based membership will get you free shipping if you order over $35, even if you order from more than one store at the same time!
Moreover, you get discounted service fees (of 5%) and there are no peak hour delivery surcharges. Otherwise, the delivery fee is between $3.99 and $7.99, and the minimum order is $10.
If you find yourself shopping at multiple stores and you want your groceries on the same day, then this one may be the best choice for you. Otherwise, maybe other options are better when you take the fees into consideration.
#4 Fresh Direct
Despite it being available on a regular basis only in Washington, D.C., and parts of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, Fresh Direct is a great option if you plan to use it regularly. Not to mention, you don’t have to miss out on deliveries or worry about what you can do if you end up going on vacation in the Hamptons or on the Jersey Shore: during summer, their delivery service is extended there as well.
As far as delivery services go, Fresh Direct is great if you are looking for top-quality fresh food and prepared meals, along with all brand-name beverages and other items. They’re all available on their website with the click of a button, like with all these services. What’s great about Fresh Direct is that, as a new user, you get to only spend one penny on delivery for the first two months!
Signing up for DeliveryPass will basically give you free delivery for the first two months, but after that period ends, the service might not be for everyone. The delivery prices end up being quite high, depending on the type of service you opt for: you can either keep your DeliveryPass, which will end up costing you $129 a year, but you will have free delivery, or you can pay every six months a fee of $79 for “free delivery services.”
Either way, you will end up paying for the delivery. And while it is a great option for anyone who lives in Washington, D.C. or New York City areas, you may be overpaying for the delivery service. The quality of the service is top-notch, but it’s up to you if you want to spend that much on delivery.
