Priazzo from Pizza Hut
The Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza is known for its legendary taste in the pizza world. However, when Pizza Hut wanted to replicate this pizza for the masses, it seems that their faces landed directly in the middle of the tomato sauce.
Well, meet Priazzo, Pizza Hut’s infamous version of the Chicago Deep-Dish. Pizza Hut was first founded in 1958, and it started out as a niche company that served piping hot pizzas. However, as the 1980s rolled around, the fast food chain was evolving, both physically and brand-wise, to the point where it started experimenting with its menu.
Back in 1985, Pizza Hut came up with the Priazzo, a deep-dish pizza filled with almost every pork product you could ever think of. But that’s not everything! The pizza had a layer of crust, sauce, and cheese, which made Priazzo’s less appreciated than Chicago’s Deep-Dish.
Frings from Jack in The Box
We have to give credit to this fast food chain, as it takes a ton of mojo to combine onion rings and french fries in order to make one tasty menu item. Unfortunately, as Jack in the Box discovered by themselves, some inventions simply sound better on paper than in real life, and that’s why their Frings had such a short life.
Now, I’m not saying that Frings was a bad idea, and I think it’s fair to say that at some point, someone would have had the same idea. Even if Jack in the Box combined two of our favorite choices, fries and onion rings, the item wasn’t a hit.
Bell Beefer from Taco Bell
Not to be rude or anything, but this menu item is genuinely the best proof that Taco Bell should only stick with what they know. At some point in the middle of the 1970s, Taco Bell decided to put their processed taco meat in burger form and then call it the Bell Beefer. Just to give you an idea, the Taco Bell Bell Beef resembled a glorified sloppy joe, at least by the looks of it.
Besides Taco Bell, the Bell Beef also had diced onions, shredded lettuce, and a mild border sauce, which made it truly original but horrible at the same time. But this burger failed not because of its taste but because of its shape.
According to an article on Business Insider, Taco Bell customers complained that the sandwich was falling apart in their hands, which made it nothing but a truly messy experience.
