If we are talking about something you would normally eat, do not buy it from Craigslist or eBay! Although food is allowed to be sold there, it shouldn’t. Grocery stores and supermarkets must follow tons of rules regarding customers’ and manufacturers’ wishes (you can add government regulations too).
But how about eBay and Craigslist? We don’t know how the food staple has been stored or handled. Even worse, it may come from a country with totally different food regulations.
