Stop Buying Too Much Meat And Dairy
Let’s be honest, a lot of us have made a habit of planning our meals around some sort of meat product. And while we’re at it, we add a ton of butter and other dairy options to the list. While it is healthy to have animal protein in our diets, one cannot deny just how meat-forward we are as a society. And with the prices of everything going up due to inflation, the grocery list is the first place where we see the total increase.
The best way to make sure you save money when it comes to this category is to slowly introduce some alternatives. Instead of having every meal include meat and dairy products every week, you can introduce one meatless dinner each week. Alternatively, you can also skip the bacon for one or two weeks a month. It may seem like nothing now, but when you add up the totals after a couple of weeks, you will see how much money you saved!
And, besides it being good for our wallets, it’s also healthier to introduce more veggies into our diets! Give it a try yourself, and thank us later when you see the saved up money!
Are you STILL Shopping In-Store?
If the pandemic taught us anything, it’s the fact that ordering your groceries is extremely time-efficient. Not to mention that it can save you money in the long run since you aren’t tempted by anything on the shelves! Besides, think about it like this: if you order online, there is no flashy shelf with a big sale sign on top to corrupt you into deviating from your grocery list.
You may think that paying for delivery might rack up a bit too many extra expenses, but you can always choose to use the pickup option. The fees for pickups are generally either extremely low, or they don’t even exist if you buy over a certain amount. All you will have to do is go and pick up your groceries, and in time, you will see how it helped you save money!
Obviously, we aren’t saying you should ditch going to the store completely! But if you find yourself coming home with too many extra items that rack up your grocery bill, this may be a way to help you not make any extra purchases for a while. Not to mention, you may be able to find some deals online that you might not find at your local store!
